Dr. Muhammad Asher Raza is a proud and lifelong ICBian, whose association with Islamabad College for Boys (ICB) spans more than a decade, from Nursery to F.Sc, during the years 1982 to 1994. His time at ICB represents a defining chapter of his life, during which the foundations of discipline, academic rigor, integrity, and perseverance were firmly laid.

Growing up within the corridors of ICB, Dr. Asher Raza witnessed not only his own growth but also the institution’s role in shaping generations of responsible citizens. Medical Education & Academic Background

After completing his F.Sc from ICB, Dr. Asher Raza pursued his medical education at Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore, one of Pakistan’s premier medical institutions. He completed his MBBS between 1995 and 2000, marking the beginning of a distinguished medical career.

He later completed his House Job at Jinnah Hospital, Lahore, from 2002 to 2003, where he gained hands-on clinical experience in a high-pressure tertiary care environment, further strengthening his clinical judgment and patient-care skills.

Professional Career & Clinical Experience

Dr. Asher Raza began his professional medical career as a Medical Officer at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad, serving from 2003 to 2005. During this period, he developed a strong grounding in hospital-based patient management and emergency care.

From 2005 to 2010, he served as a District Emergency Officer with Rescue 1122, a role that demanded leadership, rapid decision-making, and crisis management. This phase of his career significantly enhanced his ability to work under pressure and manage critical medical emergencies effectively.

With a strong inclination toward specialization, Dr. Asher Raza pursued postgraduate medical qualifications in anesthesiology:

In 2021, he moved to Kuwait, where he currently serves as a Consultant Anesthesiologist with the Ministry of Health (MOH). In this role, he continues to work in demanding clinical environments, providing high-level anesthetic and critical care services while upholding international medical standards.

Beyond medicine, Dr. Asher Raza has demonstrated excellence in creative pursuits as well. In 2014, he secured a top position in the All Pakistan Photography Competition, held at Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore, reflecting his artistic sensibility and well-rounded personality.

Dr. Asher Raza’s connection with ICB is deeply rooted in family tradition. His brother, Aamir Raza, is also a proud ICBian, having completed his F.Sc between 1982 and 1984. Aamir Raza is a Mechanical and Aerospace Engineer working in Pakistan’s missile technology program and is currently serving as Deputy Director General at PMO Taxila. This family legacy highlights ICB’s role in producing professionals who serve the nation across diverse and critical fields.
